The Distribution Center (DC) Senior Manager is responsible for the product distribution and warehousing in Houston, Pittsburgh and international locations including shipping, receiving, storage, maintenance and monitoring of company owned property and equipment.   The DC Sr. Manger will work their Director to develop the strategy, vision and goals for the Distribution Center as well as ensuring the property safety procedures are followed.  This position is a working manager position and is routinely expected to be able to step in and help meet shipping deadlines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the distribution team including receiving, storing, and shipping. Gathers needed information on and understanding of customer demands; meets specific needs for just-in-time shipping, inventory management, distribution and fulfillment.
  • Oversee overall budget, forecast and management of the Distribution Center budget cost centers.
  • Collaborate with all business units to develop SOPs, establish benchmarks, forecasts peak delivery periods and report on metrics.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with customers to identify opportunities for new services and further expansion of the distribution center.
  • Coach and oversee processes, problem resolutions and documents for use in international shipping, including commercial invoices, working knowledge around shipping carnets, and import/export procedures by country. Identifies problems and inefficiencies in logistics processes; presents and implements enhancements and solutions to address these issues.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement department with negotiation of support contracts and shipping/support vendors.
  • Provide guidance to and collaborate with product/service areas on obtaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Be an SME on the Warehouse Management System working with the Invetnory Product Specialist to troubleshoot and train employees on best practices.
  • Oversee and the development and maintenance of process and procedure documentation associated with all aspects of functionality of the Distribution Center in accordance with our QMS.
  • Ensures all performance, safety and quality policies/procedures are met for various departments through effective performance management programs.


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Warehouse Management System experience is required.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and OSHA safety regulations strongly desired.
  • Must have PC skills and be capable of learning shipping vendor programs
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and boxes around the warehouse
  • Highly motivated and results-driven

Expected travel for this role is less than 50%. A passport may be required.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of warehouse shipping and receiving management experience, required


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees of the organization, customers, and the general public.



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to develop and interpret business graphs.
